So gc101 would be safe if his PD becomes current before his file is pre-adj or get's stuck (!) in something like FBI namecheck after pre-adj. which might allow him time to add his wife's name.
So, what you mean is, I would be better off to hope that my name gets stuck somewhere in the namecheck or RFE or something for me to have enough time to get my spouse added in time BEFORE my I-485 gets approved. Did I understand it right?

Thanks you all for the responses and help. We are searching for employers who can help me out in the situation. Most of them are thinking twice bcoz I am pregnant and have to take maternity leave within a 2- 3 weeks.
Which will be the good option for me in this situation H1 transfer or EAD? I have EAD in hand, but never used. I like to maintain the status of H1-B as long as time permits. My husband is going to get health information next week once he joined in the job.

THAT IS NOT TRUE. here is the fact
1) Under HIPAA ACT , pregnancy CANNOT be considered as a pre existing condition by GROUP HEALTH coverage . This means you can also get health insurance by applying while u r pregnant.
2) you have 30 days to enroll the baby after birth

Although, in my opinion the important thing you may want to know is "what is the waiting period for your husbands group coverage at his new job, is it 30/60/90 days?

Either way you are SAFE and should be covered

Most people has very misconception about "parole". It is not a free/flexible travel document like visa. As a AOS applicant, one should not leave US till it is approved/denied. One MUST present in US during AOS. The parole is only for any emergency purpose; which is similar to prisioners. As USCIS is flexible, in approving the AP, the people don't realize the travel limitation of AP. They are travelling on AP for vatation/fun etc.. As per law, the AP is not intended for it. The CBP officer was right in asking the legitimacy of the travel. The AP document clearly says it is based on "humanitation" admission to retrun after an emergency travel.
Technically, you are right. But on the other hand, it was at a time when one had to wait at the most 6 months for AOS.
But, for people from India, on EB categories, the wait is not months, its in YEARS. So, its irrational to go by whats written there.
On the other hand: I think we must request USCIS to recognize this underlying problem with EB folks that are primarily from India. They must print an exception on the AP for India and exclude the wording "for emergency purpose only". I don't know if USCIS has the discretionary power to amend minor changes.

2. I think you DO need PD to be current for GC approval. In best case scenario, GC could be approved in matter of 10-15 days, so for July filers there were some GC numbers available, and few lucky ones got their approvals. This is how I see it... please correct me if I'm wrong.

AOS applied early June, FP was completed early July, and I am lucky to have a pretty unusual name. My PD was April 04, my card was received before the DC rally - Visa Bulletin for my category was Aug 02 at the time of approval... .
3. It would be interesting if shimul99 would share with us as when exactly his status was adjudicated. I've read somewhere that there are cases, that people got their GCs approved by mistake and lawyers suggested to inform CIS and return the GC. PD movement results in both 485 approvals + new 485 filings. CIS blames backlogs partly due to the policy that allows 485 filing whenever PDs are current. if PD movement results in 5 approvals, it also results in 10 new 485 filings and thus a backlog is built over which they have no control.
So in their opinion, PD movement should only control approvals & 485 filings should be controlled separately. If this happens, there would no backlogs and no one will ask them any questions or drag them to court for hearings!

A recent post asking about how many people have EB2-India PDs of 2003 or earlier had no responses, so I am curious about the potential spread of waiting people (atleast in the sample set of whoever responds to this poll).
RESPOND ONLY IF YOU ARE EB2 INDIA, HAVE FILED 485, AND ARE WAITING FOR APPROVAL.
