Guys,
I think we are getting sidetracked here. I think the question for most people who have spend over 6 years in US is that:
1. Education is very different in US/canada compared to India/Asia. Its geared towards creativity as opposed to rote learning. It will take a lot of time to adpat to that system.
2. The competition is definitely way tougher in India/Asia.
3. An average kid has better chances at a financially successful life in canada than in India/Asia.
Coming to the question of ourselves as adults finding jobs in canada ...
I think its definitely going to be easier to find jobs in Bangalore than in Toronto. Offcourse, comparing canadian market to US is pointless. We know US market is way better. Then again we are just talking software jobs. If you keep your mind open to any type of management position or business opportunity I think you will have better opportunity in Canada than elsewhere in India.

I am sorry but I disagree with the "best among the best" comment. To equate success in the IIT entrance exam to being the best is a mistake. Success in the entrance exams to those Insititutions comes from focus and hard work. This does not necessarily mean that the people who go there are the best. It appears form the wording in the text that, anyone who has maintained a continuous stay for at least 5 years preceding and up to the date of enactment of this bill, gets to apply for AOS and be granted permanent residence.
so with respect to EB folks, this provides GC aspirants (with 5 year stay) an immediate relief. The total quota numbers are not modified. Everything stays as is. This appears to be a one time relief to free up the choke in the system (at least for EB).

We are working really hard to get our amendments in. Please understand, we are not doing this for fun. We are into this just like you for our green cards. It would really help if we get support instead of having to answer the same questions over and over

I personally think that 6 month rule-of-thumb is nonsense.
AC21 clearly states you can switch employers 6 months after your green card application has been pending. On what legal basis could USCIS then come back and deny citizenship to anyone for switching employers too soon after getting their green card?
I'd really be interested to hear if someone has specific knowledge of a case where someone had their citizenship denied due to switching companies too soon after getting their green card.

Didn't do that(For my own personal reasons). Hoping for having enough time (1 day or two max) before my PD gets current and I send in my future wife's AOS on the first day they become current. If it gets approved, I am screwed and she has to have her own GC processing.
Also, send your application just before Aug 17th (say 15th).
I couldn't wait, because I have to attend my sister's marriage on Sep5th, so, now, I am waiting for the receipt. I am in such a bind, looks like I aged two years in 15 days :) .

I think flowers comaign is a good idea. But I wanted to know why don't we send letters and emails to Mr.Aytes and USCIS Director and probably HEads of DOS to issue the 182,000 unused visas since 2000 now so USCIS can work on those visas from July to October.
NYTimes article mentioned that DOS officials did not want this years number wasted like the 182,000 visas got unused since 2000.
Can someone come up with a writing so we can all send emails and postals mails with this request.
They need a mandate from the congress to do it, once in the past, during the clinton administration, they got the "GO" to use up unused visas.
The current administration dosent want to do that, that is exactly why we need more awareness in the media and the congress.

I am very sorry. I know exactly what you have been through. My wife also experienced a very complicated pregnancy. My baby *nearly* was born prematurily. Then Thanks God that did not happen. I felt all the pain because my wife was kept flat on bed rest for 4 months.
To make things more complicated, the doctors made an apparent mistake and mixed two type of incompatible medicines which made her develop fluids in her lungs. She was transferred to another hospital, in which a young doctor, an intern, believed she had developed a blood clot on her lung ! She was submitted to several exams to determine that was not a blood clot.
The bill for all that ? $40,000+. If I had to pay that on my own, I would be in bad shape.
In this country is dog eat dog, rat eat rat. It is about money. I am still happier here than in Canada though. That varies from individual to individual though.

why ? ask your kids to do same and see what you feel on that night. can your kids do same ? forget about torturing or anything for a moment. Didn't you see Nupur Lala a past winner where she is now ? if she was torture for that competition she would n't be in MIT. its a competition of brain power to me.
I will never ask them to participate in the Spelling beeeeeee. Also I won't never compell my kids to always study study and Read books... . I think there was one case that I saw at Murthy web site where the guy went backhome and got married. Came back and found that his green card was approved while he was in his home country and before the wedding took place. Interesting part was that his PD was not current at that time. Because of the situation, he couldn't bring in his wife in H4 anymore.
The lawyer recommended him to return his GC as it was mistakenly issued by USCIS. Lawyer had to deal with USCIS and returned the GC.
